Hunger Strike Adelante! WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Dear readers,
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
I am reaching out to you about an extremely urgent matter regarding the Haitian Asylum seekers. I was just contacted by Mr Tristan and has been brought to our attention that there is a hunger strike at the Adelanto detention center began on the evening of the 4th of July and nearly doubled in size today (it's the fifth hunger strike that we know of since June 12th at Adelanto; things are happening quickly there. Now more than 45 people are currently on strike, including, from what we were told, at least 22 Haitians who are pretty well organized and have been in detention for quite a while (I personally spoke with a gentleman who has been there for over 18 month with a bail bond of $18,000) The main reasons for the strike are high bond amounts $15,00 to $35,000, bad medical care (including 3 detainees have died so far this year in Adelanto), and they are demanding immediate release from detention.
If you are not familiar with the Haitian Migrants. Refugee Crisis please see this article from the Miami Herald from last year. At the time the were only 3000 but now we are very close to 7-9 thousand Haitian Asylum/Refugee seekers.

Haitian Bridge Alliance have been working on the ground around the clock to serve, give a voice and bring awareness to this crisis since April of 2016. Honestly it has been like a massive onion as soon as we work on an emergency another layer comes up.
I am reaching out to ask that we come together and have all hands on deck to assist those who are in dire needs. Please contact us at your earliest convenience to discuss and see how we can better serve our brothers and sisters. Please find the attached letter with names of some of the detained Haitian Asylum seekers.
I am looking forward to hear from you.
