Pèlerins et visiteurs en quête de chance à Saut d'Eau (Sodo)/ A little luck from Sodo waterfall

Située dans le département du Centre, la Fête du Mont Carmel patronne de Saut d'Eau (Sodo), attirent beaucoup de visiteurs, de pèlerins ou de gens curieux de voir cette chute d'eau. Chaque année, du 14 au 16 Juillet, beaucoup de gens, spécialement les pratiquants du vaudou, vont en foule à cette fête patronnale, depuis l'apparition de la notre dame du Mont Carmel vers la fin du 19e siècle, ce lieu est devenu un lieu spécial pour beaucoup d'Haïtiens. Pendant la fête, les gens viennent demander faveur au Dieu vivant et à notre Dame du Mont Carmel, d'autre part, les pratiquants du vaudou associent cette vierge au lwa vodou: Erzulie Dantor, certains croient que d'autres lwas se sont apparus dans ce lieu.

Ils sont au nombre de milliers dans cette chute, demandant la chance dans leur entreprise pour cette nouvelle année. Pendant cette saison certains vont à l'église pour prier, d'autres vont directement à la chute pour non seulement donner un culte aux lwas, mais aussi vendre quelques produits de leurs fermes et d'autres produits encore. Sodo est devenu un important lieu touristique, des voyageurs viennent, de tout coin de la planète, satisfaire leur curiosité.
