Nupsie and her mission to empower young girls

"A mission to support young Haitian women with understanding self and their emotions to better navigate the world. "

Born in Gonaives, Haiti, Nupsie-Flore moved to Stamford, CT at the age of twelve. There, Nupsie attended Stamford High school and earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut. She has been working in the social services field since 2012 and is currently a Mental Health Counselor for a non-profit organization. Nupsie is dedicated to working with young girls and has developed a curriculum to target the most pressing issues facing young girls today. Her program “Girls Uncut: Real Girls, Real Talk, Real Uncut”, seeks to empower young girls through a series of workshops on topics like Body Image, Self-esteem, Relationships, Being a woman etc. Nupsie is the founder of Youthful Haiti whose mission is to support young Haitian women with understanding self and their emotions to better navigate the world.

During her free time, Nupsie is an avid dancer - Hip-hop, salsa, drums, Haitian folklore – she knows it all. She is a Zumba instructor and has been modeling in the Tristate area and Florida since 2005. Most recently Nupsie has been dabbling in the world of pageantry. She wanted to enter a pageant to empower, bring awareness and support young girls worldwide, especially in Haiti. Through Haiti International Pageants, Nupsie held the title “Miss Gonaives International” and on April 23rd 2016 won the tile “Miss Haiti International 2016”. Her platform was “Emotions in Motion: Empowering young girls through social emotional Learning”.

As a young Haitian woman, Nupsie understands the need for emotional support for young people in Haiti and elsewhere. She is dedicated to her platform to better the next generation. Her favorite quote is “Love always, all ways” because she truly believes that everyone deserves love and care.
